The Heros
|
From Westchester/Playa Del Ray in the western suburbs of LA. The name of this band was misspelled 'Heroes' on the 'Everywhere Chainsaw Sound' comp and from then on everybody keeps getting their name wrong. Believe
me, it says Heros on the label, spelling mistake or not! Top notch teen punk version including two key shifts, one before and one after the solo. For the B-side, The Heros completely rip off Dylan's 'Like A Rolling Stone' in true
Mouse And The Traps style. The Heros were formerly known as The Odds & Ends and under this name they issued the great 'Cause You Don't Love Me' b/w 'Be Happy Baby' 45 (Southbay 102) in November 1965. They
changed their name to the Heros in early 1966 and 'I Can Only Give You Everything' was issued in April 1966. It can also be heard during the Japanese massage parlor scene in the 'Mondo Bizzaro' film! Read all about the
Heros/Odds &Ends in Mike Markesich's fascinating liner notes for the 'Garage Punk Unknowns' box set. Line-up includes: John Aquarelli (drums/vocals) - Joe Caruso (lead vocals). . A Garmar Production. |
