Kontra

I only know of 3 bands who recorded 'I Can Only Give You Everything' during the 1970's, the other brave souls were Little Bob Story and The Spitballs. What's more, this is a Finnish translation that bares the credit (P.
Presley/Moog Konttinen). Obviously they thought that the Troggs' version was the original one. Kontra evolved from Kontra-Virtanen who evolved from Virtanen. Virtanen was founded by a guy called Veltto Virtanen who
is a famous politician now. Moog Konttinen was the singer of all the above. They started of as an underground punk group in the mid seventies (some call them 'godfathers of Finnpunk'). 'Kontra' was the band's third and
final LP. Other covers on the album include 'First Time We Fall In Love' (The Kinks), 'Tattoo' (The Who) and 'Lil' Red Riding Hood' (Sam The Sham and The Pharaohs). Good luck finding this one, it is VERY collectable
and highly sought after. Line-up: Moog Konttinen (vocals) - Eetu Tuominen (guitar/backing vocals) - Vaari Peltonen (guitar/backing vocals) - Jyrki K. Melartin (bass/backing vocals) - Kari 'Hohdin' Holm (drums).
Produced by Tom Vuori and Reijo Hammar.
