Little Bob Story (live)
|
Second of only 3 'I Can Only Give You Everything' covers done in the 1970's. Little Bob Story released a dozen LP's and 15 singles between 1975 and 1989! They were France's most popular pubrock band for almost a decade
and a half, and occasionally they dwelled into punk/garage territory. They certainly knew their classics. 'Live 1979' was their fourth French LP, recorded live in London, June 23, 24 and 25 at the Music Machine and the
Greyhound. This version has some great nonsense lyrics, full of irony as well. 'Cause after all, I am twice a man', reveals chubby Little Bob. Sure, the man always looked a little too much like an Elvis Presley impersonator, but
boy could he sing. Who says the French can't rock? Little Bob (real name: Robert Piazza) was born in Italy but grew up in Le Havre. Line-up: Robert Piazza (vocals) - Guy Georges Grémy (lead guitar/backing vocals) - Serge
Hendrix (guitar/backing vocals) - Dominique Lelan (bass/backing vocals) - Vico Rebibo (drums/backing vocals). Bonus points go to one of the guitarists who looks just like Brian Jones did in 1965. Produced by Little Bob Story.
