Plan 9 (live)
|
Recorded live at The Rat, Boston. The tracks on Plan 9's fourth album (their second on Midnight Records) were recorded in 1984 and 1985. Much faster than the studio version, the live version of 'I Can Only Give You
Everything' kicks some serious ass. 'Should you survive the all-enveloping romp through 'I Can Only Give You Everything' then obviously any offer of therapy must be way too late', reveals Lindsay Hutton in the liner notes.
The line up is the same as on their debut, with the exception of a new drummer (Steven Andersen) who's doing a fine job here. Mixed at Trod Nossel Studios and produced by Plan 9. There's also a killer version of MC5's
'Looking At You' on this LP, definitely one of the very best I ever heard. Lyres fans should also take note of the fact that Jeff Cololly plays organ on one of the other cuts ('I'm Gone'), which was also recorded live at The Rat.
