The Projectiles
Rochester, New York is home to both The Projectiles and The Chesterfield Kings (see earlier), but their versions of 'I Can Only Give You Everything' are very different. The Projectiles add a spooky Doors type of Vox organ
sound, with lots of reverb that works really well for the song. Kinda mysterious and eerie unlike any other version you ever heard, well worth the effort. The Projectiles had two 45's on the Rochester based Jargon label: 'Some
Things Never Change' b/w 'I Need Somebody' (1986) and 'No Good Woman' / 'Nothin' b/w 'I Wanna Come Back' (1987), and a couple of compilation appearances. Their version of 'I Can Only Give You Everything'
remains unreleased. It was scheduled to appear on a Projectiles LP that was sadly never released. The Projectiles were: Dan Frank (lead guitar/harmonica/tambourine/vocals) - Tony Pilato (Farfisa organ) - Brian Goodman
(drums) - Jerry Flanagan (rhythm guitar) - Dave Blackburn (bass).
