Bram Rigg Set

This take is more influenced by the Troggs' version than any other version I heard. The drummer imitates Ronnie Bond's style so well you'd swear it was him instead. Strange enough this was also given a UK release, but with the sides reversed. Recorded and produced by the legendary Trod Nossel at Syncron Studios in Wallingford, who was responsible for several other great New England garage goodies and is still in business. The Bram Rigg Set had a cameo in the film 'A Show With A Very Long Title', where they perform the song at the New Haven railway station. Bram Rigg, by the way, was a name that the band spotted on a gravestone in a nearby cemetary! The single was pressed in a quantity of 5000 copies but in Brazil of all places, it went #1! Check out the Trod Nossel interview by Aram Heller in 'Banjo Room Revisited'. 13 years later another New England band, Plan 9, recorded their version of 'I Can Only Give You Everything' in the same studios. I've seen the Kayden 45 listed as Kayden KD-111/112 but it doesn't exist as such and it's certainly not a reissue of the KD-406 single. K 111 and K 112 are the tracking numbers of A and B sides. 'I Can Only Give You Everything' is K 111 and 'Take The Time Be Yourself' is K 112. There is no Kayden KD-111/112 single. Check out the labelpicture above, underneath Bernice Music, Inc. BMI it says K 111 but the catalog # is KD-406. I've also seen the single refered to as KD-412, but it doesn't exist either. Bram Rigg Set were: Bobby 'Damon Robey' Schlosser (vocals) - Peter Nery (guitar) - Richie Bednarzyck (organ) - Jerry Poulton (bass) - Bennet Segal (drums).
